These are All the Sunglasses in Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick

So you just watched Top Gun: Maverick and maybe you feel the sudden urge to grow a mustache while listening to Kenny Loggins? We totally understand. Although we can't help you with a mustache, we have all the answers to the burning question: "What style of Ray Bans were featured in the movie?" We've got the Ray-Bans for you. See below to explore your favorite pilot’s iconic polarized sunglasses in both the original Top Gun (1986) and Top Gun: Maverick. No spoilers in this article.

Maverick (Tom Cruise), Slider (Rick Rossovich) Wears RB3025 Original Aviator

This is the frame that started it all for Ray-Ban in the 1930s. It is more than just a fashion statement. The Aviator was designed to protect US fighter pilots’ eyes from the sun’s harsh rays. For the classic look seen on Maverick, go for the RB3025 in Gold with polarized G-15 green lenses. G-15 lenses were developed to absorb 85% of visible light, stop glare, and provide color contrast. They remain a top choice in Ray-Ban frames today.

Rooster (Miles Teller), Goose, Cyclone, hammer Wears RB3136 Caravan

Both Rooster, Goose, Cyclone (Jon Hamm), and Chester 'Hammer' Cain (Ed Harris) rock the Ray-Ban RB3136 Original Caravan sunglasses in the film. Following the success of the Aviator, Ray-Ban introduced the Caravan in 1957. Another frame in the Aviator collection, RB3136 is very similar to RB3025. Just like the Aviator, it features a metal frame, adjustable nose pads, and a double bridge. Where it differs is in style. It has a unique, geometric shape, instead of the classic tear-drop. For the same look, go for the Caravan in Gold with G-15 lenses.

Penelope ‘Penny’ Benjamin (Jennifer Connelly) Wears PERSOL PO3235S

Jennifer Connelly as Penelope ‘Penny’ Benjamin wears a Persol in the film with the straight double bridge. Although technically not a Ray Ban, they are made by the same company that produces Ray Bans. Although they don’t come from the manufacturer with brown lenses, simply message one of our opticians and we can customize it with the brown tint and your prescription!

Hangman (Glen Powell) Wears RB2132 New Wayfarer

Both Hangman and Coyote (Greg Tarzan) wear the RB2132 New Wayfarer in the film. The New Wayfarer is another best-seller in Ray-Ban’s collection of icons. It is modeled after the original but doesn’t feature the tilt like the original does. It also features a shorter lens height. The New Wayfarer is made of lightweight nylon, making it a perfect choice to wear from sun-up to sun-down. To rock Hangman’s look, go for the RB2132 in Light Havana with brown lenses.

Phoenix (Monica Barbaro) Wears RB2180 Round

Even the best pilots need some casual sunglasses for their days away from the hangar. This frame is made of acetate and features the iconic Ray-Ban rivets on the frame front. The retro round shape is casual, fun, and perfect for a day at the beach. Phoenix styles the Ray-Ban RB2180 Round sunglasses. To rock Phoenix’s look, go for the RB2180 Round in Dark Havana with brown lenses.

Hondo (Bashir Salahuddin) Wears RB4340V Wayfarer Ease

Hondo wears the RB4340V Wayfarer Ease Ray-Ban eyeglasses. The Wayfarer Ease is a modern take on the original style, featuring the Wayfarer shape. To get Hondo’s look, go for the Wayfarer Ease Eyeglasses in Shiny Black. Don’t wear prescription eyeglasses, but love this style? It comes in sunglass form as the RB4340 Wayfarer Ease, which is also featured in the blockbuster film.

Bob (Lewis Pullman) Wears RX6389 General

Lewis Pullman is seen wearing the Ray-Ban RX6389 General eyeglasses in silver. Lewis Pullman plays Lieutenant Robert "Bob" Floyd in the movie and wears the ophthalmic style on the ground and in the air. Made for true style protagonists – The Ray-Ban General (est. 1972) comes back to life on optical. Fine metal tones and new, ultra-thin flat metal temples give this original shape must-have appeal for an urban generation of brave trendsetters who love to challenge the norm.

Payback (Jay Ellis) Wears RB4340 Wayfarer Ease

Payback is seen wearing the sunglass version of Hondo’s eyeglasses, the Ray-Ban RB4340 Wayfarer Ease sunglasses. Featuring the iconic Ray-Ban rivets and Wayfarer shape, this frame is great for those who don’t like the tilt of the original style. To get Payback’s look, go for the RB4340 Wayfarer Ease in Black with G-15 green lenses.

Iceman (Val Kilmer) Wears RB3138 Shooter

In the original Top Gun, Iceman is wearing the RB3138 Shooter. However in Top Gun: Maverick Ice is wearing a completely different (non-Ray Ban) brand. In the newest movie, he is sporting the Japanese acetate and sleek beta-titanium Matsuda M2026 in Light Brown. See photos below.

Wolfman (Barry Tubb) Wears RB3016 Clubmaster Classic

AirBoss (Duke Stroud) Wears RB3030 Outdoorsman Reloaded
